Our approach

How we help you choose a ring.

We match each FirmTech ring to a shopper's goal using the same six criteria for every ring, drawn only from FirmTech's published specifications.

Last updated: November 3, 2026Published by FirmTech

How does FirmTech decide which ring to recommend?

FirmTech recommends by goal, not by price. We compare the TechRing, Performance Ring and MaxPR on six criteria: erection support, health tracking, safe wear time, tightness, warranty and price. Then we point each shopper to the ring that covers their goal with the fewest trade-offs.

FirmTech makes all three rings and writes these recommendations. They are not independent, and we say so on every comparison page.

What we include, and what we leave out

What counts as evidence here

Product facts come from FirmTech's own published pages. Outside numbers, such as ED prevalence or market size, are quoted exactly as published with a named, linked source, including their ranges and conditions. Ratings are stated with the review count and the month they were checked.

What we never do

We never invent reviews, ratings, customers or awards. We do not describe other companies' weaknesses. We do not present FirmTech's own figures as an independent study, and we do not promise medical outcomes. When a question needs a doctor, we say so.

How a recommendation is made

  1. Step 1: Start with the goal

Performance only, performance plus data, or maximum intensity.

  2. Step 2: Check fit

All FirmTech rings fit up to 5.5 inches (14 cm) erect girth.

  3. Step 3: Check wear time

Long sessions or overnight rule out the MaxPR.

  4. Step 4: Weigh price

If tracking is not needed, a $60 ring covers the goal.

Common questions

Short answers here. All 49 questions are on the FirmTech erection ring FAQ.

Which FirmTech ring should I buy?
Choose the TechRing ($275) if you want performance support plus data on every session and night. Choose the Performance Ring ($60) for a comfortable, simple ring you can wear up to 12 hours. Choose the MaxPR ($60) for the tightest fit and most intensity, worn up to 90 minutes. More in the FAQ
Is the TechRing worth $275 over a $60 ring?
It is if you want data. All three FirmTech rings support firmer, longer erections. The extra $215 buys built-in sensors, Bluetooth, the app, nighttime erection tracking and a 1-year warranty instead of 3 months. If you only want the feel, a $60 ring does that job. More in the FAQ
What is the best erection ring for a first-timer?
For most first-timers the Performance Ring is the easiest start: $60, an adjustable fit FirmTech rates 3 of 5 for tightness, nothing to charge, and wear time of up to 12 hours. Move to the MaxPR if you want more tightness, or the TechRing if you want measurements. More in the FAQ
Will a FirmTech ring fit me?
Most likely. FirmTech says one size fits 95% of men, up to 5.5 inches (14 cm) of erect girth, and the hook-and-loop strap adjusts to your exact size. All three rings share that same fit range, so there is no size to pick at checkout. More in the FAQ
How long can I wear an erection ring?
It depends on the ring. FirmTech lists safe wear times of up to 12 hours for the TechRing and Performance Ring, and up to 90 minutes for the MaxPR, its tightest ring. Generic rings often carry shorter limits, so always follow the maker's guidance for the ring you own. More in the FAQ
